The Joy of Picking Lemons
Living life on my terms is nicely captured in this photo. Why? Because being able to pick ripe lemons off the tree while out riding my bike here in Huntington Beach, CA in the winter is such a blessing.
I am a adamant believer in intentional life design. This is based on the belief I carry that I am worthy to have it ALL. I once designed a life where I lived in a beautiful converted tobacco barn on a breathtaking farm of 300ish acres in central North Carolina. I loved it. My life was filled with nature, making fires, and all that country living had to offer. I also created this vision without remembering to include financially accessible heat in the winters. It was cold! I loved so much of that life but I HATE being cold.
During that time I had a long white down jacket with a fur hood that was the focus of many jokes from friends. It wasn’t the most attractive coat but I Loved it. I would tell everyone that it was a constant 70 degrees and sunny in that coat, just like Southern California! I always thought SoCal would be the perfect place for me but I couldn’t imagine how I could live here. So expensive, far from anything Or anyone I knew. Story after story of how it couldn’t be possible.
Fast forward a few years and I did a dreaming exercise from a book I was reading “You’re a Badass at Making Money” by Jen Sincero @jensincero where I wrote out my utopic life that included lots of freedom, getting paid MORE THAN ENOUGH just to be me and much more. I learned to keep all the details of this utopia vision in my heart and mind every day as well as the joy it brings.
So, how does all this have any bearing on now? Well...I now live bi-coastally! I’m enjoying the beauty and warmth of Southern California a mile from the beach. This is all thanks to @714do my beloved fiancé. What a blessing in my life💕 He has taught me how to line up with everything I desire while constantly cheering me on. I’m forever grateful for how the laws of attraction work, he came all the way from California to attend an event that I was doing with a mutual friend. That creative partnership evolved but what came out of it has been life-changing for me and I will always be in deep gratitude for how it all came together and that it brought Dave into my life.
My point in sharing all this is that we are all given the opportunity to design our life every day. The limiting beliefs we have can often stifle what we think is possible. I encourage everyone to question those limiting beliefs. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t just wake up here one day. I made choices and took action, to value myself far higher than I was. These choices to change my life wasn’t easy at all. It took extreme dedication to know my value and that I could have a life that reflected ALL the things that my heart desired. The knowledge that I am the one to provide that for myself and no longer settling for situations that didn’t reflect my highest good was a huge first step.
Step into your potential know that whatever want can be yours if you are willing to become the person you need to be to align with it. Here is to living life on your own terms!
